The findings indicated that there were 14 translation techniques used in the movie from 18 translation techniques, they were Adaptation (54 utterances), Amplification (38 utterances), Reduction (21 utterances), Borrowing (17 utterances), Calque (3 utterances), Description (2 utterances), Established Equivalent (97 utterances), Generalization (2 utterances), Linguistic Amplification (7 utterances), Linguistic Compression (2 utterances), Literal Translation (139 utterances), Modulation (2 utterances), Substitution (6 utterances), Transportation (2 utterances). The data were analyzed based on the theory proposed by Molina and Albir. The data analysis were taken by listing and tabulating the data. The data of the study were every utterance that spoken by the main characters Zainuddin. The study was conducted by using quantitative combine with qualitative method. The objectives of this study were to find out Techniques of Translation, the reason of using Translation Technique used by main character used in the of Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck’s movie. The thesis dealt with the translation techniques used in Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck’s Movie.
